Microsoft announced to be preparing for the final release of Windows 21H1 version on 10 May 2021 Update.
Yesterday, Microsoft said in Windows Insider blog post, that they have finalized Build 19043.928 as its final build for Windows 21H1 version
Also, Windows Insider Beta testers and Release Preview channels are already have this “newer” preview build. Means are now previewing the latest May 2021 update.
Windows Insiders can now download the final Build 19043.928 preview for final Windows 10 21H1, by seeking manual updates.
To Download the Windows Insider Build 19043.928, you can go to:
Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update
“Once an Insider updates their PC to the May 2021 Update, they will continue to automatically receive new servicing updates through Windows Update (like the monthly update process), including Build 19043.964,” says Microsoft.
As, Windows 10 21H1 is only a minor update to 20H2 version, which was again a small update for 2004 version of the Windows 10. This new update will start to roll out for all the users from 11 May 2021.
Additionally, the participants of Windows Insider Program for Business have the validation on 21H1 on their commercial devices running since March. However, Business owners can seek for Microsoft Support which is only limited to Windows 10 Enterprise and Pro edition customers.
Windows 10 version 21H1 update new features:
As, Windows 10 21H1 May 2021 is a minor update for Windows 10 20H2 which will have some generic fixes, quality updates and security enhancements. However there are some significant features to be coming up.
Windows Hello multicamera support:
This will allow users to prioritize their camera when both internal and external cameras is present. Users can set their external camera as default one.
Improvements To Windows Defender :
The Windows Defender Application Guard will have performance improvements that includes optimized document opening scenario times.
TLS 1.3 protocols:
As per the Microsoft documentation on Windows 10 21H1 update, it will enable the TLS 1.3 protocols.
Improvements in search experience:
A recent searches will appear, when you will open the Windows Search box on your taskbar. This will improve the easy access of recent items.
Enterprise Level Improvements:
Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Group Policy Service (GPSVC) will have performance improvement. This will enable support for remote work scenarios.
